Day 1: It's getting serious

Today is the first day of work.  After going for a run with Carolyn, Vinod and Sunghwan, I went down for breakfast.  The fruits that they give us with breakfast every day are delicious!! It's so juicy, and tasty! Just as good as the fruit is Lebanon :) At 9:00 am, we all went to one of the clients locations for the opening meeting.
All the clients met us there and they each gave a little presentation about their NGO.  After that,  we got to mingle and meet everybody.  It was a great opportunity to meet all the other teams' customer since we won't be seeing them often.  Lucas, from Maos de Minas, pointed out that Andrea looked a little bit like Robert Downey Jr, and he sooo does :) We have been calling Andrea Iron Man since.

After meeting everybody, we head out with our client to Rede Cidada.  Guilherme introduced us to everybody there and Fernando gave us an overview on what the company does.  Rede Cidada is a non-profit company that works with young adults from 18 to 35 years old, giving them the proper training to find jobs.  Fernando founded the company 10 years ago.  He talks about the work they do with so much passion, it's really inspiring.  After the overview, we all went to lunch.  They took us to a really nice
kilo place.  It's a very common type of restaurant in Brazil.  There's a very large buffet with a really big selection, so you go around and fill your plate.  Once you're done, you pay by weight.  The food was really really good.

After lunch, we went back to the office, reviewed our notes a little bit and called it a night.  The team went out to dinner afterwards.

Oh and I almost forgot... Before we left the office, I wanted to take a picture of the team using the timer on my camera.. So I set it up on the window and started walking away.  The camera fell on the floor and broke :( ... It's only the second day!!!!! Ah well, I guess I'll just rely on everybody else's pictures... and the camera Mike lets me use sometimes :)
